Oh The Places We've Slept

As we get ready to open a new chapter in our life...stability... I am reflecting on this past year and the MANY places we have slept. It has been a complete year now that Kris and I have been without a place to call our own (that has an address at least). Over this past year we have lived in a van, lived at our in-laws, slept at numerous friends and families homes and slept in a different hostel almost every night for five months as we traveled across Asia. While in Asia we slept on a train, a farm, at 17,000 ft., in a hammock, in a house shaped like a boat, in a hut on the beach, on airplanes etc. I bet we have slept in at least 150 different beds over the last 365 days. There were nights that I longed for my marshmellow heaven bed and a place that was consistent. However, looking back on the past year I wouldn't change the adventures we've had for anything in the world. I bet in a year I will be ready to be back in my van, living in the forest. If you didn't know already, Kris and I are moving on Monday to Denver so I can go to graduate school. I will be attending DU and getting my masters in social work. I will keep you guys updated from our new abode. Here are just a few of the places that we have slept over the last year....as you can see Kris does most of the sleeping in this family.

My birthday cottage on an organic farm in northern India. That bed was close to heaven.

Indonesia- Not a bad place for a nap

Indonesia, we had our own traditional batik house

Kris always sleeps on coffee

Another Art Show

I wanted to let you all know that this month our art is up in a new location!!! We had our art up last month at the Aveda salon and this month it is up at the Vino Loco Wine Bar. If you are in the area you should definitely stop by and take a look. I love the ambiance in there and they have some affordable and yummy wines. Let us know if you are interested in purchasing any of the photos you have seen on the blog, even if you are far away we can mail them. Hope you have an absolutely delightful weekend.

Things I Love

1. My Grandma.
This past weekend I went down to Phoenix and spent a few days with the G-ma. If there is anyone in the world I have learned a ton from and want to be like, it is my grandma. She is a dear sweet soul.

2.  Lemonade.
Go grab yourself a glass of real, agave sweetened, delicious lemonade this summer. I promise it's worth it. If you take Rita with you she may just buy you a glass.

 3. Gluten Free Coconut Cream Pie.
I dearly love making pie with Michael on Sunday afternoons. He's good company and he'll share his killer family recipes with you.

4.  Vernon Jackson Bauerle (and of course his mother Emily)
Vern has been my companion on these lovely days in Flagstaff when everyone's working. Vern and I go on long walks on the mesa and I talk to God while he sniffs and pees on things. Love you Verny.

I've Been Away

Dear Faithful Blogreaders,

So, I've been MIA on the blog, you may or may have not noticed. I am going to try my hardest to be more faithful at blogging but I wanted to share some wonderful photos that our good friend and wonderful photographer Rita took. Our time of living in the van will officially be coming to a close shortly and I wanted to get a few wonderful photos of Kris and I in our home. What do you guys think of the new header? Another Rita photo, I will save the rest of the cool photos she took for the blog header so I can change them frequently. Hope you are well. Let me know what's going on in your life.

There are a lot more wonderful photos but I didn't want to overwhelm you guys. I'm hoping to get a big canvas print of one of them for our new home. Which one is your fave? I'll be blogging again this week so check back.
