These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Another thing I love..... Neighbors! In our new apartment we have some wonderful people living around us. So wonderful in fact that they have been showering us with gifts. The first gift...beautiful, local, community garden grown vegetables. These lovelies arrived at my door today from Kelly's garden. Aren't they beautiful!!! I mean look at the size of that zucchini, it takes up the entire back of my couch!! So tonight we had some friend's over for dinner and I made a zucchini/polenta casserole,  it was delicious!! Next gift...plants! If you have been to my house you know I love plants. Another neighbor brought these lovelies over for us this week. Man do I love having good people living around me!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Hello fellow travelers. Today we are looking at another favorite thing from my house, this amazing postcard book that Kris bought for me in Montana. It was mailed on November 21st, 1939 at 1pm from Tucson, AZ for 1 1/2 cents. Obviously I love old things. I am simple fascinated by the stories they hold. So this book was sent to Mrs. J.W. Hardy who lived in Alameda, CA. It details different plants, cacti and flowers that can be found in the desert. It goes on to describe the deserts as "turquoise skies, far horizons, vast reaches of level mesas, blue veiled mountains with tinted peaks, and purpled shadowed canyons." Some days I dearly miss living in the desert so I love to look at these photos and imagine what Mrs. J.W. Hardy thought when she received this in the mail.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Friends-
This week I am going to post random things around my home that I LOVE. First up......Vintage Towels. Now what the heck is a vintage towel you ask? Well technically I don't really know at all, but I consider a vintage towel to be colorful and full of sweet patterns (usually flowers). Ever since I fell in my love with my first vintage towel they have been showing up everywhere, and are always in mint condition. So, I have started my own little collection and love decorating with them in the kitchen and bathroom. I think this entire stack cost me around $5!!! Hope you enjoy...
